Beijing Suburban Railway operates a train from Beijing North station to Yanqi Lake twice daily. Tickets cost ¥10 and the journey takes 1h 15m. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Beijing South to Great wall of China via Xuanwumen Station, Dongzhimen Station, Dongzhimen Bus Station, Huairou Beidajie, and Mutianyu Roundabelt in around 3h 18m.
